How to Buy and Use Cranes for Thermal Power Plants?

1. Lifting machinery should indicate the maximum lifting capacity. The safety devices such as brake, limit, interlock and protection of hoisting machinery should be complete, sensitive and effective.

2. Overhead hoisting machinery such as tower cranes and portal cranes should have reliable lightning protection devices.

3. Cranes moving on the track, except for railway cranes, must be equipped with stalls at the end of the track at 2m. The track should be equipped with a grounding device.

4. The crane should be equipped with a fire extinguishing device. The operating room should be covered with insulating rubber pads, and no inflammables should be stored.

5. Lifting machinery shall not be overloaded for lifting. If it is necessary to overload, it should be calculated, take effective safety measures, and be approved by the chief engineer before proceeding.

6. When the cantilever crane is working, the maximum elevation angle of the jib must not exceed the manufacturer's regulations.

Unless specified by the manufacturer, the maximum elevation angle shall generally not exceed 78°.

If it is necessary to exceed the specified maximum elevation angle, it shall be calculated and reliable safety measures shall be taken to prevent the jib from tilting back, and the hoisting and hoisting shall only be carried out after the approval of the chief engineer.

7. Without the consent of the competent department of machinery, the mechanisms and devices of the various parts of the lifting machinery shall not be changed or replaced.

8. The hoisting machinery should be inspected at least once every year for a comprehensive technical inspection. For hoisting machinery newly installed, demolished, overhauled or changed in important technical performance, static load and dynamic load tests should be carried out according to the factory instructions before use. If the manufacturer has no specific regulations, the test shall be carried out according to the following regulations:

① Static load test: The weight to be tested should be lifted 10cm from the ground and suspended in the air for 10 minutes to test the strength and rigidity of the crane frame.

The weight of the weight used in the static load test should be 125% of the rated lifting capacity for a crane that is newly installed, overhauled or has changed important performance;

For cranes that undergo regular technical inspections, it should be 110% of the rated lifting capacity.

If the frame is found to be permanently deformed during the test, it should be repaired and reinforced or the original maximum lifting capacity should be reduced before it can be used.

If the bridge crane is found to be insufficiently rigid during the test, and the deflection value in the middle of the main girder span reaches 1/700 of the span below the horizontal line and cannot be repaired, it should be scrapped.

② Dynamic load test: to be carried out after passing the static load test.

During the test, the test weight should be hoisted, moved, rotated or luffed repeatedly to check the operation of each part of the crane. If there is any abnormality, it should be replaced or repaired.

The weight of the weight used in the dynamic load test should be 110% of the rated lifting capacity.
