Precautions for Cranes used in Thermal Power Plants
1. For major lifting and transportation projects, construction plans and safety technical measures should be formulated in the construction organization design.
2. Anyone who falls into one of the following situations must apply for a safety construction work ticket, and the person in charge of construction technology should be present for guidance, otherwise construction will not be allowed.
① The weight reaches 95% of the rated load of the hoisting machinery.
② Two or more hoists lift the same object.
③ Lifting precision objects, or lifting large pieces that are difficult to hoist, or lifting large pieces in complicated places.
④ Lifting machinery works under or near the transmission line.

3. Lifting objects should be fastened firmly.
The hanging point of the hook should be on the same vertical line as the center of gravity of the hanging object, and the wire rope of the hook should be kept vertical.
When dropping the hook, prevent the hanging object from partially landing on the ground and causing the sling to deflect. It is strictly forbidden to loosen the hook when the hanging object is not fixed.
4. The included angle of the jack rope is generally not greater than 90°, and the maximum shall not exceed 120°.
5. When lifting large or irregular components, a firm slip rope should be tied to the hanging parts.
6. Unrelated personnel are not allowed to stay or pass in the lifting work area, and it is strictly forbidden for any person to pass or stay under the outrigger and hanging objects.

7. When the crane lifts heavy objects, it should generally take the lifting channel, and it is strictly forbidden to pass over the head; when processing the lifted heavy objects, reliable support measures should be taken and the crane operator should be notified.
8. The lifted heavy object shall not stay in the air for a long time. When staying in the air for a short time, neither the operator nor the commander shall leave their posts.
9. The lifting equipment and its safety devices should be checked before lifting; when the heavy object is lifted about 10cm from the ground, the lifting should be suspended and a comprehensive inspection should be carried out, and the formal lifting can only be carried out after confirmation.
10. When two or more cranes lift the same heavy object, the following regulations should be observed:
① When lashing, the load should be distributed in proportion according to the allowable lifting capacity of each crane.
② During the lifting process, the hook wire ropes of each crane should be kept vertical; the lifting and walking should be synchronized.
The loads on each crane must not exceed their respective allowable lifting capacity. If the above requirements are not met, the rated lifting capacity should be reduced to 80%, or the chief engineer can reduce the rated lifting capacity according to the actual situation. But when lifting, the chief engineer should be present to direct.
11. When using the main and auxiliary hooks of a crane to lift the same heavy object, the total load shall not exceed the allowable load of the main hook at that time, and shall comply with the provisions of Article 206 of this regulation.
12. In case of mechanical failure or abnormal phenomenon during the operation of the crane, the heavy objects should be put down and the operation should be eliminated. It is strictly forbidden to adjust or overhaul during operation.
If the crane fails to put down heavy objects, appropriate insurance measures must be taken. Except for risk-eliminating personnel, no one is allowed to enter the danger zone. 12 Objects with unknown weight, buried underground or frozen on the ground are not allowed to lift.

13. Explosives and dangerous goods shall not be lifted. When lifting is necessary, reliable safety measures must be taken and approved by the chief engineer.
14. It is strictly forbidden to use operating equipment, pipelines, scaffolding, platforms, etc. as bearing points for lifting heavy objects. When using structures or equipment components as load-bearing structures for lifting heavy objects, it shall be accounted for. When using structures, the consent of the original design unit should also be obtained.
15. When the wind force at the workplace reaches level five, lifting operations with a large wind area are not allowed; when the wind force reaches level six or above, lifting operations are not allowed.
16. In case of severe weather such as heavy snow, heavy fog, thunderstorm, etc., or insufficient lighting at night, so that the commander cannot see the work site clearly and the operator cannot see the command signal clearly, lifting work is not allowed.
