1.5 Safety brake When lifting important objects, such as: nuclear materials, liquid metal, generator rotors of large hydropower stations, etc., a safety brake is set on the reel of the main hoisting mechanism of the crane. One pair, two pairs or even three pairs of pads can be set on the rim of the flange on one side of the reel according to the requirements of the braking torque, which are controlled by a special hydraulic station.
