Are Crane Chains Of Different Tonnages The Same?

Are crane chains of different tonnages the same?

Cranes are classified as material handling machinery. The operation characteristic of the crane is intermittent movement, that is, in the operation cycle, the corresponding recovery, movement, unloading and other mechanism replacement operations.
In order to improve the service life of the 50 ton bridge crane and improve production efficiency, we must have a certain understanding of the relevant accessories of the crane. So, what is the design specification for the crane chain? Are 50 ton and 100 ton overhead cranes equipped with the same chain?
First of all, whether it is a bridge crane or a gantry crane, the chains equipped with different tonnage cranes will be different. There are grades of crane chains: when you often buy lifting tools, you will hear manufacturers say that heavy-duty chains are 80-grade professional chains. In fact, there are three levels of crane chain.
High-strength type I type 80: In the 80-level crane chain rigging, the high-strength type I system is most widely used.
High Strength Type II Grade 80: This type is not as widely used as Type I. Chains and accessories of the same link diameter and additional loads can be connected together.
Super strength level 100: Compared with level 80 crane chains, the advantages of this level of crane chains are that under the same diameter, the extra load is 25% higher, the surface hardness is higher, and the resistance is better; in addition, the surface color is also different from that of 80 level chains , the chain and its structural members are cyan.
Crane chain manufacturing specifications: The grade of crane chains should meet the requirements of industry standards gb4829 and gb5802. The design and manufacture of short chains should comply with the regulations of gb4829.
The steel should be static steel produced by open hearth furnace, electric furnace or oxygen top-blown converter.
Steel should have good cold bending properties and weldability, and not prone to strain aging brittleness.
The breaking force and total ultimate elongation of the crane chain: the breaking load of the crane chain is related to driving safety, and its measurement should also meet the gb4829 standard.
The extra load of a good quality chain should be 4 times greater than the normal load.
Before the chain leaves the factory, a tensile test of 2.5 times the additional load should be carried out.
It is important to note that since the crane chain is made of iron, it is easy to rust. In the maintenance of the chain, please be sure to pay attention to the problem of chain rust.
