How To Choose The Working Speed Of 15 Ton Bridge Crane

Feb 21, 2023

An important index of 15 ton bridge cranes is the working speed. The fast full speed determines the efficiency of production lifting, so how to choose?

The working speed of the 15 ton bridge crane includes the lifting speed, the running speed of the trolley and the running speed of the cart.

The choice of working speed depends on various factors.

First of all, it is related to the lifting capacity. The cranes with medium and small lifting capacity should use high speed to improve productivity, and the cranes with large lifting capacity should use low speed to reduce the driving power and improve the stability and safety of operation.

Especially when there are two main and auxiliary hoisting mechanisms, the speed of the main hoisting mechanism is usually significantly lower than that of the auxiliary hoisting mechanism. (20 ton main and auxiliary hoisting mechanism crane is also called 20 ton double hook bridge crane)

The working speed also depends on the working level and use requirements. The crane with high working level, frequent use and high productivity needs to choose high speed; the working mechanism with low working level and used for adjusting operation can choose low speed; the crane only used for equipment installation and maintenance In addition to low speed, the crane can also adopt double speed (fast, slow), micro speed or speed regulation according to the needs.
In addition, low speed is used for full load and heavy load, and high speed can be used for no load and light load.
Using frequency conversion speed regulation can make the working speed can be adjusted arbitrarily at the same ratio of 1:10.

The working speed is also related to the size of the service space of the crane. High speed should be selected for long running distance and high lifting height.
When the running distance of the crane is short, it is not suitable to use high speed, so as not to start braking before starting. The principle is to allow the mechanism to have a working section that runs at a stable speed, in case there is often an unstable operation that will immediately switch to deceleration operation before the acceleration is completed.

But with the development of modern industry; cranes that do a lot of reloading work are increasingly using high speed; cranes for installation and maintenance use a large number of speed regulation.

For some cranes with special functions, such as cranes used for workpiece quenching, there should be fast lowering devices; for cranes with large lifting heights, in addition to appropriately increasing the lifting speed, they can also use low speed for heavy loads and high speed for no load, or Take steps to get higher descent speeds to increase productivity.

Therefore, when operating the bridge crane, it must be approached by professional construction personnel. Those who do not understand should not use it casually, so as to avoid any situation.

Conditions for relational velocity:

1. Lifting mechanism
The lifting mechanism is composed of a lifting motor, a reducer, a reel, a brake, a hook and so on. The hoisting motor is connected with the reducer through the coupling, the brake wheel, and the output shaft of the reducer is connected with the reel wrapped with the wire rope. The other end of the wire rope is equipped with a hook. When the drum rotates, the hook follows the wire rope. Winding or unwinding on the scroll to rise and fall. For cranes with a lifting capacity of 15t and above, there are two sets of lifting mechanisms, namely the main hook and the auxiliary hook.

2. Running speed
The speed at which the running mechanism runs at the rated speed of the drive motor, in m/min. The running speed of the trolley is generally 40~60m/min, and the running speed of the large car is generally 100~135m/min.

3. Speed up
The hoisting motor of the hoisting mechanism picks up the speed of the object at the rated speed, in m/min. Generally, the lifting speed does not exceed 30m/min, which is determined according to the nature, weight and lifting requirements of the goods.
