Today, a customer inquired about the price of a grab crane. The customer needed 2 models, one is a grab crane for slag grabbing, and the other is a grab crane for aggregate grabbing. The customer specified that they are 2 types of grabs. Therefore, the same grab crane is equipped with different grabs. So how to choose the correct matching grab? Let's find out:

The grab bucket refers to a common tool used by cranes to grab dry bulk cargo. The container space is composed of two or more bucket-shaped jaw plates that can be opened and closed. When discharging materials, the jaw plates are closed in the material pile, and the materials are trapped into the container space. When the materials are discharged, the jaw plates are in the material pile. It is opened when it is suspended in the air, and the materials are scattered on the pile. The opening and closing of the jaw plate is generally controlled by the wire rope of the crane lifting mechanism. The grab does not require complicated physical work, can achieve high loading and unloading efficiency and ensure safety. It is a key dry bulk cargo loading and unloading tool in the port. According to the type of working cargo, it can be divided into ore grabs, coal grabs, grain grabs, wood grabs, etc.
First, let us analyze it from the perspective of product structure. The driving grab mainly consists of the grab body, the main rope suspension system and the electrical control system. The grab body is the main working part of the grab and is used to grab materials. It is usually made of wear-resistant materials to increase its service life. The main rope suspension system is the support and power source of the driving grab, and consists of main ropes, pulleys and hanging devices. The electrical control system controls the opening and closing of the grab.

Next, we will discuss how to choose the right driving grab bucket. First, choose a grab bucket that meets your needs. For example, if you need to grab materials in a stone quarry, you need to choose a grab bucket that can withstand heavy weight and is wear-resistant; if you need to grab bulk materials, you need to choose a grab bucket with good sealing performance. When choosing, you also need to consider factors such as the size, weight and ease of operation of the driving grab.

1. Select the grab power mode according to the crane.
The grab bucket is a pick-and-place equipment under the crane. It cannot be separated from the crane and can complete the work independently. Therefore, what kind of grab bucket should be equipped with what kind of crane? If it is wrongly matched, it cannot be used, and if it is too large and overweight, it cannot be used. For example: the lifting drum of the crane is separate and it needs to be equipped with a mechanical grab. It can only be equipped with a single-cable grab. If it is equipped with a four-cable grab, the grab will not work; another example: the rated lifting capacity of the crane is 25t. If a grab is required, it can only be equipped with the grab's own weight + the weight of the cargo to be grabbed = <25t. If the grab is too large, the crane will be overweight and unsafe.
2. Select the grab structure type according to the type of cargo being loaded and unloaded.
According to the concept of grab bucket: grab bucket is used for loading and unloading various goods. Therefore, what kind of goods are loaded and unloaded should be equipped with corresponding grabs. If it is mismatched, either the efficiency will be low or it will not work. For example: the type of cargo that must be loaded and unloaded is coal, and it is equipped with a light double-flap grab. If it is equipped with a heavy-duty double-flap mine grab, the loading and unloading efficiency will be reduced by at least half.
