A portable gantry crane, also called a mobile gantry crane, is a medium-sized gantry crane that does not require permanent civil engineering foundations. It uses electric hoists as the lifting mechanism, and the whole machine can be moved by casters or rail wheels with brakes. Some Tips For Mobile Gantry Crane Maintenance

1. Daily and Pre-Use Inspection

a.Inspect the main beam, outriggers, connecting bolts, and other structural components for deformation or loosening.

b.Inspect the hook for cracks and ensure the safety latch is intact.

c.Inspect the electric casters and swivel wheels for wear and brake function, and remove any tangled debris from the wheels.

d.Inspect the electric hoist and control cables for damage.

e.Check the sensitivity and reliability of all limit switches.

2. Weekly And Regular Inspection

a.Lubricate the wheel bearings and height adjustment mechanism screws.

b.Inspect and tighten all steel structure connecting bolts (use a torque wrench if torque is required).

c.Inspect the drive system and brake pad wear of the electric casters.

3. Quarterly And Annual Overhaul

a.Structure: When used in coastal areas or outdoors, focus on inspecting the steel structure for corrosion. If necessary, perform non-destructive testing on major welds.

b.Electrical: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the electrical system, including controllers, contactors, and cables, and check for aging or loose components.

c.Running gear: Inspect wheel wear. If wheel diameter wear exceeds 10%, replace them immediately.
