Shipbuilding gantry cranes are specialized lifting equipment used for manufacturing ship hulls. It is mainly for the hoisting and flipping ship sections in dry docks, slipways, or platforms. These cranes are typically installed on slipways and are characterized by large spans and complex structures. Their gantry crane frames usually adopt a design with one rigid leg and one flexible leg, meaning one rigid support leg is fixedly connected to the main girder. In contrast, a flexible hinge connects the other flexible leg to the main girder. The main girder comes in two forms: single girder and double girder.
