The traveling mechanism of single-girder crane, traveling mechanism of cart, and luffing mechanism of cart should be equipped with buffers or buffering equipment. The traveling mechanisms of bridge cranes and gantry cranes commonly used by our company are equipped with buffers or buffering equipment.

Its function is: when there is a problem with the limiter or braking device of the 30 ton bridge crane, it absorbs the operating function of the overhead crane to buffer the impact and prevent the overhead crane from colliding with other objects due to inertia. The buffer of the bridge crane should be placed in two places, one is the bridge crane and the stop body replacement, and the other is between the bridge cranes on the same track.

People who understand the installation methods and procedures of single-girder cranes may know that buffers are not used in normal use. Since the limit switch will be installed at the travel limit position of the large and small vehicle, when the single-girder crane reaches the limit position, the travel switch will act and the crane will stop before colliding with the safety stop. But the buffer is also an indispensable part, mainly from the perspective of improving the safety of the whole machine. When the travel limit switch fails, the buffer should ensure that when the single-girder crane collides with the end stop at normal speed, it can absorb enough energy to ensure the safety of the crane.

At present, most of the buffers used on bridges and 25 ton gantry cranes are rubber buffers and polyurethane foam buffers. The rubber buffer is composed of a whole rubber or multiple rubber plates, with a simple structure and low production cost. When a collision occurs, the crane's kinetic energy is mainly consumed by its own internal friction. Generally used when the crane operating speed does not exceed 50M/min.

Polyurethane foam buffers have the advantages of large energy absorption, good buffering performance, oil resistance, aging resistance, acid resistance, corrosion resistance, high and low temperature resistance, insulation and explosion-proof, low density, light weight, simple structure, low price, no noise, no sparks, etc. It has the characteristics of convenient installation and maintenance and long service life. Therefore, it is widely used around the world. On general cranes, it can replace rubber and spring buffers, and is more worthy of promotion in explosion-proof places.

The common ones are spring buffers and hydraulic buffers, both of which have their own advantages and disadvantages and are mainly used in some special occasions.
